REGGAE COFFEE

It is important to be authentic when determining the taste notes or sensory flavor profile characteristics in a coffee blend, so that consumers enjoy a genuine and consistent sensory experience with every sip of a cold cup of Reggae Coffee. This coffee uses a blend of 12 single-origin coffees from Aceh to Papua, featuring three varieties—Robusta, Arabica, and Liberica—which consist of 8 sub-species: Typica, Bourbon, Sigaruntang, Ateng Super, P88, LiniS, Mekarwangi, Robusta clones, and Catimor.

A sip of Reggae Coffee will deliver a nuanced dimension of the senses: Smell, Taste, Touch, Sight, and Sound. The 'tongue' has been reduced to a myth, as many of our guest tasters are able to recognize sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami.

Every sip of Reggae carries four distinct fruity sensory aftertastes before returning to the initial taste spectrum. While smell and taste work together to give us a 'flavor sensation,' there is ample evidence that, in this synthesis, smell plays the most crucial role.

We can smell things through two pathways: the nostrils (orthonasal) and through our throat (retronasal). Thus, the taste of coffee is the result of a combination of at least these two senses. Maintaining flavor consistency requires understanding that even the smallest change during the plant's growth cycle (such as rainfall before harvest) can affect the coffee's flavor profile. This means the quality of every coffee can change from harvest to harvest.
